Catching up on my stash of kits

Even thought I only belong to one kit club, The Treasure Box Club, my kit drawer was overflowing several weeks ago. Lately I have been putting together kits out of my stash to go along with Tracy's kit which just added to the flood.  Each day I have been having grab bag kit day.  It is working and now I have room in the drawer for my overflow paper stash.  If I keep working on this I will have this room in I can find it order shortly.

Another Treasure Box Layout

The August TBC Kit worked with these pictures of Angelique experiencing Hobby Lobby for the first time at June 2010 Retreat at Shop Remember When in Whitesboro, TX.

Big Wheel for Joci

For Joci's birthday in 2009, we went to Target and got her a big wheel. I remembered how much fun her mother had with her big wheel when she was this age.  Tanya put it together on the kitchen floor while Joci supervised and I took the pictures.

I used QK font Rockstar and Paige Mini. The large flower is also QK.  The large font on Right page is Broadway Melody by Sizzix.

Dutch Cowgirl

Angelique came from the The Netherlands to attend SRW retreat in 2010. She had alot of first on this trip. One of the first was becoming a Texas Cowgirl.  She went to Denards and bought her first pair of cowgirl boots.

Products used in this layout: Bazill cardstock, MME Bohemia (2006), Quickutz fonts Chandalier and Fiesta. The cowboy boot and small belly band used in the journaling block are also QK.

Trying to locate my scrapbooking mojo

It has been awhile since I completed a layout. Today instead of organizing and re-organizing I decided to use some of my stash.

These pictures are from May of 2010.  My granddaughter came over to celebrate my birthday with me. She brought her bike to ride.  Since it was a nice warm May day she and Steve decided to ride in our backyard.

Still working with 2010 Retreat Pictures

I am still trying to finish 2010 Retreat pictures. One day during the retreat Jason and Kendra decided that their scrapbooking supplies needed a little replenishing. I think the only thing they got in their "bag" was a few bits of scrap paper. We got a big laugh and lots of good pictures.

Where has the time gone

I just realized that I have not posted anything to my blog for a long time. So much for trying to post weekly.

Baseball season has officially begun.  The Mariners are not doing as poorly as was expected by all the experts.  They still need a big bat, but the pitching is great.

My Texas Retreat has come and gone. It went much to fast.  Now I am faced with 1000's of pictures that need to be sorted through, so that I can begin the 2011 Retreat book.  Oh yeah I guess I should finish 2010 also.  In that vane I did finish a layout this week from the 2010 retreat.

More Remodeling

I finished getting cabinets in my scraproom now it is on to the rest of the house.  I will never understand home builders.  They never put enough closets or storage in a house.  Today I contacted my cabinet guy and hopefully he can start working on the living  area of this home.  We need appropriate storage and seating in our living area.  We have a really cool brick fireplace with a brick mantel.  I am hoping that he can make an Oak Fireplace Mantel with bookshelfs off to the sides that works into a cabinet that will hold our TV.

I just got an email from John.  Due to the economy he is moving his shop into a co-op shop so it will be a little while before he can start.  That is ok, just gives me time to save more money.  Ok maybe, you never know what new scrapbooking supplies I will NEED.

Back to Rainy and Cold

It is springtime in the Pacific Northwest, but you would not know it by the rain, wind, hail and cold temperatures today.  Normally we have had a week of 70 degree temps.  This year we have had 2 day's since January 1 that have reached 70.  I will not complain as Friday and Saturday were beautiful.  We even hit 65.  WOHOO!  But today it is just reached 54 and it is 4:30pm.  I did finish a layout that I started last week today.  If I am lucky Tanya's album for 1981 will be done sometime before I go to Texas.

Mariners v Rangers Layout

Still working on my 2010 SRW retreat pictures.  Using stash is the game plan in my studio this year.  I have been collecting anything that I think would be cool on a scrapbook page. Now I am trying to use them.

Has anyone else ever thought "oh that is the most perfect embellishment ever made", then never used it? Hope I am not the only one with this disorder.

Graphic 45 Cigar Box

I finished this cigar box using the new Graphic 45 Curtain Call paperline.  I left the bottom natural as I am going to store stamps in the box.

Craftware House Challenge March 17, 2011

Our local craft store, sponsors a scrapbook club once a month.  Each month they give us a half sheet of paper, sometimes a whole sheet of cardstock and some embellishments and a theme.

This months theme was adore.  They gave us a half sheet of rose paper (not my favorite), the background sheet of cardstock and a ticket and piece of ribbon.  I added metal, flowers and a word sticker phrase. The border punches were MS doily lace, EK Success scallop w/pin holes around the edge, Fiskars scallop and Spellbinders Fleur De Lise accents.  Those of you who know me well, know I detest stickers, but this one worked and used something that had been in my stash for about 8 years.

Redo of the April 2010 TBC Kit

I had done this layout last fall and was not happy with it.  I received my new Spellbinders dies today and added them to the layout, which gave it a somewhat finished appearance.  It still needs something but it is better than this morning.

I used BoBunny Mamma Razzie paper line, Spellbinders S5-042 Fleur De Lis Accents, Tim Holtz stick pins, and Thickers letters.

Ken Griffey Jr. returned to the Mariners in 2009. These layouts were from opening day.
I did this layout for a photo challenge that Vanessa posted on the Remember When message board awhile ago. Princess Furball managed to jump on top shelf of our entertainment center. Then proceeded to lay there like "what's ya goin a do this is my new sleeping spot".
I was able to salvage these pictures from a lovely shade of deep purple and orange.  This is the best I could do, but at least we can see their faces.  These pictures were taken in 1978. I used QK Fiesta, Roxy mini.  The chipboard letters are old Prima.

Mariners Album

This is the cover of the album that I did for the Seattle Mariners auction in November 2009.  All of the interior pages were cut in the shape of the state of Washington.  If I remember correctly there were 30 pages total in this album.  I also made 2 more like this one for a good friend and one for me.

Just the beginning

Today is a new journey for me into the art of blogging.

I have been scrapbooking for about 14 years.  The products and techniques have evolved in those years.  I hope that my projects will inspire you to grow in your scrapbooking hobby and that you will try some of the new techniques that emerge every day.

I have been called a tool junkie.  My tools of choice are Quickutz, Spellbinders, Silhouette and Cricut. Some would say, and rightly so, there is not a tool on the market that I have not tried.

My favorite designers are Tim Holtz, Teresa Collins, Donna Salazar, the Designers of Graphic 45 and Basic Grey.

It is time to get scrapping, so I will see you later.
